Cute Cousins!

This past weekend we went to Houston to see my sister-in-law, brother-in-law and neice Peyton. It was so great getting the babies together to play! They are both at a stage where they like to crawl around and play with toys. It is amazing how much they have both grown! McKade got to go swimming for the first time, he didn't like it at first but he got used to it and had fun splashing around and humming to himself (I guess he was soothing his nerves), it was really great to see what an awesome swimmer Mavery has become too. She is such a fish now. Peyton LOVES the water, she is going to be a little fish one day, too. McKade loved getting to play with another baby and he also decided he likes his cousins pacifiers more than his own (thank goodness!) his binky is the kind he had when he was a newborn and we have been trying to get him to take one that is for older babies but, he hasn't liked any of them until now. Happy Birthday!

This past weekend we went to Longview to help celebrate my Aunts' birthday. Here are some pics from the party. The kids had lots of fun with their cousins and enjoyed being able to play outside at their Nana and Pas'. It was great to be with family!!!

Oh Yea.....CHOCOLATE CAKE!

So, we didn't get to do cake with McKade on his actual birthday, he was so tired and full from eating hotdogs! The next weekend we went to his Nana and Joe-Joes and they had a little chocolate cake all ready for him, and as you can see below he had no problem eating it!! LOL!

First Hair cut.....

Mckade and his daddy got their hair cut this past weekend. It was bittersweet for me.....his sweet baby hair being cut off was sad, but he was such a good boy and even laughed through part of it. Here are his before and after pictures......

McKade's 1st Birthday!!

McKade turned 1 on the 20th and I just can't believe my baby is already a year old!! We had a little party for him and my mom, Mark's dad and wife, and Uncle all came. Also our friends Connie and John and their 2 kids. It was a very small get together, most of our friends and family that were invited had other plans for the weekend. It was a little strange for me because I am so used to having all our friends and family at birthday parties. McKade didn't seem to notice, he had a great time playing with everyone and eating his very first hot dog! He recieved lots of great gifts and had more fun with the bags, ribbons, and tissue papers than he did with the actual gifts!! Here are some pics from his big day.......

Fathers

I have a great dad and even though I don't get see him all that much anymore, I am so very blessed to have been raised by such a great man. There is a quote I read one day and I feel it fits what my dad is to me... "Any fool can be a Father, but it takes a real man to be a Daddy!! " It takes a REAL man to raise another mans child, and that is exactly what my dad did, he raised me as his own and taught me to be the person I am today. It really does take a village to raise a child and there are many villagers in my life who I learned so much from. I hope my dad has a wonderful Fathers day and knows how much I love him for all he has given me and taught me!! Love you Dad!

As for my wonderful husband......I could not ask for a better dad for our kids. We get busy and sometimes don't get to have the family time we should but, when we do, Mark makes sure it is extra special. He has been someone our daughter admires and loves so much, he has, for the past year been our little boys super hero, and he has been the best provider for us. This will be his first Fathers day as a dad of 2 and we are going to make it super special!

I bought the kiddos a little swimming pool today and we had the best time playing in it! McKade LOVED it, he thought it was the greatest thing.....I have a bunch of pics, but the video is PRICELESS so I am posting it for now.....
