Eye Candy...

I am the ultimate shopper, but more than shopping, I love to CREATE. I am really bad about it though. I go out and spend money on all the scrap booking stuff (over $100) and it is all still sitting in my desk drawers. I bought stuff for McKades book and Maverys and I have not done a thing with any of the stuff and I have had it now for a year. I guess it would help if I actually knew HOW to scrapbook. lol! I am in the midst of making some cute items for CupCake FabuLous in addition to all of the cupcakes, I figured we could throw in some cute one of a kind items with cupcakes on them, so now I am trying to learn to sew or should I say stitch.....it is all very interesting.

I love being crafty, but it is so hard to focus on just one thing, when there are thousands of things I want to do! So, I thought I would add a couple of pics I found that are total eye candy for me. They literally make me want to jump up and go thrift store shopping, or learn how to paint, sew, or refinish furniture. I found a really cute website... http://jerusalemgreer.com/index.htm and she has some great photos of things I could only DREAM of doing but, here are a couple of things she has done that I love....

How great is this little playroom???

Now this next inspiration was found by my friend Leigh Ann, who saw it and instantly thought of me (thank goodness), because I LOVE all her little art pieces and most of all her refinished furniture! Her name is Catherine and she has "The Red Shoes" blog and store..... http://www.redshoeshomegoods.com/index.cfm . Here are a couple examples of her work, she just makes me want to refinish ALL my chairs and furniture....

This dresser just screams my name!! LOL! I LOVE it!

Such great eye candy!! I wish I had the time and persistence it takes to create all these things. One day I hope to get a few things done, but for now I will have to check back in with these great ladies websites and blogs to see what kind of eye candy they come up with next!:)

O.k.....Just 1 more.....I saw this and it is just TOO CUTE!! Way out of my price range, but so adorable..

This is one YUMMY cupcake!!

Spring Fever = CrAfTs!!!

I am so excited about the warmer weather (I know, we still have a couple cold fronts to deal with) but, besides that I am thrilled about seeing the grass get greener and the trees blossom. It really makes me want to get crafty and start on projects around the house. I am going to be painting a desk we have and refinishing another table. I am trying to learn to sew a little so I can start a baby cupcake line of clothes for CupCake FabuLous. I found the cutest things lately, first one website I have become obsessed with has THE MOST ADORABLE clothes for little girls, so frilly and just all GIRL, it makes me wish Mavery was smaller! You can check out their adorable clothing line here..... http://matildajaneclothing.com/ . The other website I found has things for babies and adults alike "Serena and Lily". I am in love with the colors they use and I really find it all inspiring. You can see their catalog and items here... www.serenaandlily.com . I'm so happy to be busy, I feel like this past winter was one of the worst ever, and winter is usually my favorite time of year. This year was kinda dreary and depressing, so bring on the beautiful flowers and the sunshine! I'm ready!!

Finally, SPRING is ALMOST here!!!

Well, I FINALLY have a new computer!! It was quite a process, we originally wanted to get a home computer with a monitor so we could all use it if we needed to, but when I went and checked out all there was out there, the home PC's were way more than a fully loaded laptop. So, I have a new laptop! YAY! This post I am adding a few videos of McKade from over the past couple of months. He is 8 months old now and I am trying to get as many cute things he does on video as possible.

Today is a big day for Mavery. She has her very first TAKS test today!! It is in Reading and she was super excited about it. Her teacher felt she is 100% ready and to be honest, the girl LOVES to read, just like her mom!:) But, she is picky about what she likes, she loves Judy Moody books, but she now has every single one that has come out, so we are hoping that the author starts putting a few more out soon. She just discoverd "The English Roses" a series of books written by Madonna about a group of friends in London. She LOVES the 1st book so much, I have seen her read it twice already, and it isn't even a book-book, it basically introduces you to the girls and tells you all about them. I'm excited she likes them so much, she was starting to give up on finding something she liked and had been asking me if I would read "Twilight" to her......UH, NO! LOL!! Still a little young for that.

I know spring is getting closer, I love these warm days we have had off and on. Mavery has Spring Break starting on the 16th, that is in less than 2 weeks!! Then it is just a couple more months and she is out of school for the summer.....how the time does fly! I'm trying to not to think about it too much, it makes me sad, because it means Mavery will almost be in the 4th grade and my little man will be a whole YEAR old! :( O.k....can't think of that. I am hoping to take the kids to the Ft. Worth zoo while Mavery is out of school, I just need the weather to cooperate. Yay for springtime!!!

Well, here are a couple of videos......enjoy!! I'll post more soon!!

Getting Bigger, getting older.....

I still do not have my laptop so, of course I can't get on my blog all that often for updates. I am starting to slowly go insane without it. I didn't realize how much I depend on it for EVERYTHING......really! Like looking up the movie times, finding a store phone number, looking for paint colors or local thrift stores that carry furniture (these are just a few things I have been needing it for, just TODAY) what did we do when we didn't have computers? Hopefully mine will get fixed or I can get another one. Something has to happen soon. I not only use the computer for daily look-ups, I also run a web based business and it is REALLY hard to communicate with customers and work on getting my new website up and running without it.

On to other things.......My sweet little girl is getting big. She is officially a 9 year old (going on 30) she has a distinct taste in clothes as well as how she wants her hair. I still love putting big bows in her hair, but lately I have noticed she wears a pretty big frown on her face every time I try to put one in. So, we have now outgrown bows. This is a very sad thing for me, it means that my little girl is becoming a "tween". What the heck is a "tween"?? Well, a tween is a kid stuck between being a kid and a teen......hence, the tween. She still wants to have the kid things, but she has become more picky about her clothes and her hair. We went yesterday (because she has been begging to get her hair cut) to a kid and teen hair place to get her hair done. She loves this place because they not only cut and style her hair just how she wants, they also paint her nails. She loves it! When she went in the chair she was my cute little girl......when she came out of the chair, she was a polished little lady!!! Her hair looks amazing. REALLY! She had about 6 inches cut off and asked that it be layered. It really suits her to a tee. She absolutely loves it, and so do I. (I will post pics once I get a computer) So, I am now officially the mother of a "tween". How odd.

McKade is still my sweet little man. He has been up to all sorts of things this week, his new favorite food is Popsicles. Red, green, purple, he loves them all. It is so cute watching him, he wants to shove the whole thing in his mouth, but as soon as he gets a little bite he shivers and makes this funny face. It is really funny! I got this on video and will upload it once I have a computer.....are you seeing a pattern here? LOL! We also put together one of his "big boy" toys this weekend for him to play with, he has no idea what to do with it, but he loves watching his sister play. I can't believe he will be 8 months old next week. Many people have been asking me if he is crawling or trying to, or if he has teeth, so here is the update on what he is doing........ He is not crawling, he sits up and plays by himself and reaches for EVERYTHING, you name it he wants it, TV remotes, cell phones, and of course, it all goes in his mouth! He has no teeth and the drooling has gotten a lot better in the past couple of months, so I don't really know when it will all start. Mavery did not get her first tooth til she was 1, so we aren't to concerned. He also has a serious obsession with hair. He loves grabbing mine and Mavery's and he tries to get Mark's but his is too short. This kid will grab and pull SO hard, then he will loosen his grip and just play with it, like it is the most fascinating thing ever! I even caught him pulling his own hair the other day. Ha!

Mark and I are in desperate need of a night ALONE!!! I LOVE my kids to death, but it has been so long since we have had a date night. We have had nights without the kids but they have been to go to a birthday party, or some kind of function or something. It has been a few months since it has just been the 2 of us, and since we just had Valentines and before that, it was our 10 year first date anniversary, we are due a nice night out. I am looking forward to it, whenever it may be. I hope it is soon. Mark will be 30 this weekend. I was hoping to have a little birthday party for him with just our good friends and family, but he can't stand the thought of being the center of attention for an evening, so I had to call it off. I really want to celebrate him entering the "30" club, but looks like it will just be another day for us (at his request of course).

Everyone who knows me, knows I love to be surrounded by friends and family, but lately I am starting to feel like a hermit. It is not a good feeling. Time to get out of the house and join the real world. Hopefully the weather will start getting better and I can take the kids to the park and do some outdoor type things with them. (we'll let Mark stay inside where he is more comfortable) LOL!! I am so ready for spring and all the flowers blooming, it is nice to see everything starting new again. Well, hopefully next time I get on here to update it will be from my own computer and I can add some pictures in the jumble of words.:)

Laptop Blues....

I truly love having a blog and try to keep up as much as possible, unfortunately my laptop died on me a couple of weeks ago and I have not been able to download pictures or write any blogs. I am on Marks' laptop right now and it makes me miss mine even more. Well, here is my latest update......

McKade is now 7 months old and just about the sweetest baby ever!! He has the best smile and the sweetest temperament. He loves his daddy and just lights up every time Mark walks in the room. I am really enjoying this stage so much. He still isn't doing a whole lot of moving around he now knows how to turn on his side but, he doesn't flip or anything. He sits up by himself and loves playing with his toys on the floor. He is just a little cuddle bug!!

Mavery has a birthday next week. She will be 9!!! Her last year in the single digits.....it makes me so sad. I can't believe how much she has grown and how the years just flew by. She is such a caring soul, so compassionate and dreamy. She loves to talk, talk, talk and has a real knack for making friends. I am so proud of her. We found a cute little puppy out here where we live a few weeks ago, he was so tiny and it was freezing outside, so we took him in, he is now Maverys new pet and to be honest he is a really great dog. I am glad we took him in because we recently found out that he was no more than 5 weeks when we found him. Mavery is asking for dog stuff for her birthday. LOL! We have started crate training him (with a box) and she is hoping to get a crate for her birthday. We'll see!!;)

Mark has been traveling alot lately. It puts alot of stress on me, not that he is around the house that much when he is home, but it is nice to run to the store without having to get McKade out, so the past 2 weeks have been very tiring, getting Mavery up and ready for school and also getting the baby up and trying to get everyone fed, all before 7:15 a.m., I have a great deal of respect for all the single moms out there who do this everyday and hold down a full time job, they are true heroes!! I am excited that in another week and a few days, Mark and I will celebrate our 1st date anniversary, it will be 10 years!! I can't believe it has been that long, I still remember that night so clearly. Well, I think that's it. I have no idea when I will be back on again. Hopefully my laptop will get fixed VERY SOON!

New Year

I have decided that this year is going to be so exciting. Lots of new things to experience and happy memories to be made. So far this year has been exciting, I found out there will be another baby in my circle of friends, I have Maverys' 9th birthday coming up, McKade will have his very first birthday, and Mark and I will celebrate 10 years of marriage. But, last year was a great year for our family, we added a couple of new additions and made new friends, moved into a new home, and learned all about sleepless nights again. Here are a few pics from the past year and there will be lots more to come in 2009!!
